iBrandVoice / AI visibility audit
The AI Visibility Diagnostic is an AI visibility audit for brands that sell physical products on Amazon, Walmart, Chewy, Etsy, eBay or their own Shopify store. It shows what ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Alexa for Shopping (formerly Rufus) tell shoppers about your product, who they name instead, and what to fix first.
Fabulous Fido is my own pet-apparel brand. Before changing anything, I ran the same AI brand visibility audit on it that I offer: a September 2026 baseline, 88 answers across 9 AI tools.
Brand mentions in this audit sample; not market share or sales attribution.
Four things, for the questions your shoppers actually ask.
Every finding is dated and tied to a recorded answer, so the same questions can be asked again after you make changes.
The ones shoppers use to decide what to buy:
The Score uses three of them: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. The full audit covers more of the list; the published pet-apparel audit used nine, counting the search and shopping modes of ChatGPT and Perplexity separately.

Whether ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Alexa for Shopping name one product for three shopper questions, who they name instead and what they get wrong.
ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Perplexity, 10 real shopper questions, 30 answers. Who is named instead of you, and three first moves.
How AI tools describe your brand, what they get wrong and which competitors they prefer, with a visibility plan in priority order.
Days are working days, counted from when I receive your product links.
Three pages from the pet-apparel audit: the summary, one finding with the evidence, and the first recommendation.
Many AI visibility audits start from a brand's website. For brands that sell mainly on marketplaces, that misses where AI gets its facts. In the pet-apparel audit, 65 of 73 answers with text on record relied on marketplace listings; the brand's own site was cited in 12.
Since November 2025, Amazon's robots.txt has also blocked two of OpenAI's crawlers, ChatGPT-User and OAI-SearchBot (Modern Retail). The audit shows which sources ChatGPT uses for your product instead.
Inside Amazon, shoppers now ask Alexa for Shopping, which took over Rufus in May 2026 (Amazon). Amazon trained Rufus on its product catalog, customer reviews, community Q&As and information from across the web (Amazon).
One audit covers all three: Amazon's assistant, ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.
I'm Natalia Bizyukova, founder of iBrandVoice. Before iBrandVoice, I worked on the strategy side of Amazon launches: a $148K beauty device launch in its first three months, and a heated eye mask that earned Amazon's Choice in month two.
I also run my own pet-apparel brand, so I deal with the same AI answers, reviews and marketplace rules as any marketplace brand. Before ecommerce, I was Head of Retail & Franchising for TOM TAILOR, with 60 stores.
No one can guarantee that AI will recommend your product. AI answers can't be controlled; the evidence around your brand can.
There's no access to internal data from Google, OpenAI or Amazon behind it. Every finding comes from answers recorded on a stated date.
AI answers change from one run to the next. The audit is a dated baseline, and the follow-up asks the same questions.
Mentions in an audit sample are not market share or sales attribution.

SEO works on where your pages rank. An AI visibility audit looks at what AI tools actually say: whether they name you, which facts they repeat, where those facts come from and who they recommend instead. The two overlap, and the audit shows where.
GEO, or generative engine optimization, is a marketing term for the same field, and some agencies call it an AI search visibility audit. Many of these audits look at a brand's website. This one starts where your product sells: marketplace listings, your own site and the pages AI tools quote.
OpenAI says placement in ChatGPT search is not guaranteed. To be eligible, a site has to let OpenAI's crawler, OAI-SearchBot, read it, and ChatGPT search sometimes partners with other search providers, including Microsoft and Shopify (OpenAI).
The audit shows which sources ChatGPT relies on for your product, what it gets wrong, and which change to make first.
ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and, for brands on Amazon, Alexa for Shopping. The Score uses ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. The free check uses ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Alexa for Shopping.
On May 13, 2026, Amazon brought Rufus into Alexa for Shopping for U.S. shoppers, in the Amazon app, on the website and on Echo Show (Amazon). Many sellers still say Rufus, so this page uses both names.
The audit ends with a plan in priority order and ready-to-use changes your team can act on. Amazon listing rewrites are a separate service. When specialist execution is needed, I hand over the specifications and a way to measure the result.
No one can. AI answers can't be controlled; the quality and consistency of the evidence around your brand can, and that's what the work improves.
